2. The data we collect
We collect only what we need to give you an estimate and, if you ask, to connect you with suppliers.
- Contact details. Name, email address, telephone number and postcode, entered at the contact step of the estimator.
- Project details. Property type, dimensions, scaffold shape, region, hire duration, optional extras and any notes you add.
- Estimate output. The low and high figures generated for you.
- Consent flags. Whether you accepted this policy and whether you opted in to supplier contact.
- Technical data. IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamps, collected automatically for security and analytics.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not collect special category data.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

4. Sharing your data with suppliers
We never pass your details to a scaffolding company unless you explicitly ask us to, either by ticking the opt-in during the hire details step, or by pressing the “send me quotes” button on your results page. Until you do, your estimate is stored only for our own records and for sending it back to you.
When you do opt in, we share your name, contact details, postcode and project specification with a limited number of vetted suppliers covering your area so they can quote. Each of those companies becomes an independent controller of that data and is responsible for its own privacy practices. You can ask us to stop sharing at any time by emailing info@scaffoldingpriceestimator.co.uk.
5. Other recipients
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under written contracts:
- Website hosting and static delivery
- Form delivery and email notification
- Analytics and advertising measurement
We may disclose data where legally required, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We never sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum, together with appropriate supplementary safeguards.
7. How long we keep it
- Estimates and contact details: 24 months from your last interaction, then deleted or anonymised.
- Supplier-shared enquiries: 6 years, to evidence consent and handle any dispute.
- Website and security logs: up to 12 months.
8. Cookies and browser storage
We use a small amount of browser storage to remember your dark-mode preference and the answers you have already given in the estimator, so a refresh does not lose your progress. Your contact details are never stored in the browser. These uses are strictly functional. Any analytics or advertising cookies are set only where you have given consent, and you can change that choice at any time.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used and request a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased where there is no continuing reason to hold it;
- restrict or object to processing, including direct marketing;
- receive your data in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these, email info@scaffoldingpriceestimator.co.uk. We respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on access-controlled systems. We apply least privilege, keep software patched, and review access periodically. No system is perfectly secure, but we will notify you and the ICO where a breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on the site.
